EASTERN COMMAND PAYS CONDOLENCES ON THE DEMISE OF “DUTCH”

Indian Army Dog "Dutch", born on 03 April 2010 at RVC Centre & College Meerut was one of the most decorated dogs in the Indian Army. He served the nation for 9 years as a Explosive detection specialist dog in the thick of Counter terrorism operations in Eastern command In an operation he was instrumental in successful identification of an IED of 6 kg in a public bus, at Goalpara district of Assam during Dec 2014. Similarly in Nov 2014 during the visit of Honourable Prime Minister at Guwhati, he outstandingly performed in capturing of an IED of 7 kg in a coach of Kamakhya Express at Alipurdwar which saved many lives and public property, performing silently as true soldiers in service to nation. He was pioneer in receiving appreciation of GOC – in - C Eastern Command on two occasions. Dutch died due to natural reasons on 11 Sept 2019 after providing his long nine years of service to the nation.
